The PreditMot4Future platform emerges as a response to the growing need for intelligent, real-time monitoring of electric motors in the industrial sector. These devices account for around 50% of all electricity generated globally, and their unexpected failure can result in production losses of more than USD 125,000 per hour, according to the report “Value of Reliability: ABB Survey Report 2023”.

The proposed solution consists of a multi-technical platform based on artificial intelligence algorithms, capable of collecting and analyzing voltage, current, magnetic flux, vibration and temperature signals, to ensure continuous and intelligent monitoring of the state of the motors.

This project is supported by Compete 2030, Portugal 2030 and the European Union.

With this innovative approach, PreditMot4Future aims to:

  • 95% automatic fault detection rate

  • 80% accuracy in identifying the cause of failures

  • 70% automatic recommendation of corrective actions

  • 50% of suggestions for improvements in energy efficiency

Expected benefits include a reduction of up to 70% in repair costs, 85% in unplanned downtime, and a 15% increase in operational efficiency — with direct impacts on the competitiveness and sustainability of companies.
